To blog or not to blog, that is the question.

I've never really followed any blogs nor did i ever think i would start one, to be honest i thought they were really lame because it gives everyone including stupid people freedom. Freedom not only to blog about the dumbest of things but freedom to explicitly expose themselves and the people in their lives to the somewhat dangerous cyber world. They blog about every small, irrelevant, trivial thing that happens.

On the other hand we have genius people who channel their blogs in one direction, not only are their blogs interesting, but informative, up to date and usually makes them money. You get those people who write the most captivating an interesting stories on their blogs, as well. There are also those who start blogs and then stop blogging, the internet is full of abandoned blogs..

And lastly you have bloggers like me..somewhere in the middle of all of it. I'm relatively new to this and blog about whatever i feel like, it says so in the description. Come to think of it this would have been a good introductory post, but it's too late for that now so this is basically what i think about blogging.

It doesn't have to be that in a blog all the visitors only speak to the creator, they can have their own side conversations too but even if they did only write to the creator so what? it is their blog after all, the visitors can have their own blogs and be the centre of attention there. It really all depends on how the blogger wants to run their blog..

Thought this was slightly interesting. Why do you blog? If you do that is. I do it for fun something to pass the time when i'm bored :)

It's not what you voice, it's how..

''One often contradicts an opinion when what is uncongenial is really the tone in which it was conveyed''  Friedrich Nietzsche
Opinions are like assholes everyone has one..and that's fine because you're entitled to it, but don't people who shove it in your face so vigorously  that you wish you didn't start a conversation with them just annoy the hell out of you, unless your on a debate team.

There's a big difference between wanting people to know what you think, and wanting people to agree with you. Those who insist everybody agree with them will push points until others feel attacked. If we all had one opinion then really we would never have anything to talk about.

There is a certain approach and method to sharing and exchanging opinions and the most important thing is to listen, after all a proper conversation should never be one- sided; express your opinions in a gentle but clear manner so that it's civilized and not in any way aggressive because that is called an argument!
''I never make the mistake of arguing with people for whose opinions i have no respect for'' Edward Gibbon

My chicas..

Yes, i've decided to dedicate a whole post to my friends because really without them things would be so lame. I'd like to state for the record that we have officially finished school and are trying to cram in some fun time before we all go our separate ways.

The hard truth is that one day we won't be as close to one another as we are now, it's inevitable..we may think about each other once in a while but it will be by a long shot that we ever find ourselves in the same place we are in now, stuck between what we want to happen and what will most probably happen..

p.s. your mothers..

Not about the packaging..

To each his own, but why not the other choice? Fair skinned people have had their chance to shine and presently being dark/brown skinned is the 'in' thing, you wouldn't go for skin whitening now but rather tanning..

It's sad however just how large a role skin colour plays in society..whichever one you are from. I for one don't give a rat's ass about it, that's not to say i'm not superficial with regards to looks, but i tend to see the facial shape, the features, the bone structure and so on and rarely ever let colour be a deciding factor. I suppose it has nothing to do with racial discrimination as such, maybe just preference..but to me, to some extent there lies some sort of discrimination, even if it is in the sub conscience. Once you differentiate by race, you are immediately separating people and essentially segregating your friends.I'm olive skinned and i hate it when people assume that i see myself as lucky for being so; without even knowing what type of person i am. This is just the way i turned out, had i been darker, i wouldn't have thought twice about it. I look beyond racial barriers.. actually i don't look at all, but what got me to write this post is the way people are carrying on.

I think beauty is more than external but even external beauty has little to do with colour. As a diverse nation, i think it's regressive to always knit pick on race and make a big deal out of it. Diversity is beautiful, we should learn to accept it and remove stigmas attached to it that sit and gnaw at the back of our heads and in that way maybe we will be able to see the bigger picture of what the true definition of beauty is; personality.

il dolce far niente

Or in English, ''the sweetness of doing nothing''
I recently heard this from the movie (which is also a book) 'Love Eat Pray' with Julia Roberts, it is said during her trip to Italy, and loved it . Probably my favourite thing to do and although Benjamin Franklin once said 'Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of'' i think sometimes just doing nothing is in a way looking at life and enjoying it. It is not always a waste. Life is lived in such a rush, that people rarely notice the little things that paint the big picture. So, next time you feel guilty for not really doing something you're supposed to, just give yourself a break and chill out..but remember moderation is key :P

Owls

I'm not exactly a bird lover, but for some odd reason i really like Owls. They're just so different starting with the fact that they are mostly nocturnal and live in solitary, they're not exactly pretty but do have a unique look. There are so many different contradictory beliefs about them like in mythology and cultures; some see them as a sign of death and doom, although personally i think they are just very wise creatures.

Since people don't often speak about owls or know much about them, i thought it would be a good idea to watch this movie.

Post one:

I created this blog about one month ago but haven't really done anything on it until today. To be honest i don't know where to start, but i do know that i want it to be interesting whatever 'it' may be.
